FAQ's

DOES DITA.COM OFFER PRESCRIPTION LENSES?

Although our frames can be fitted with prescription lenses, Lavish Eyewear does not currently offer prescription lens services. Please contact your optician to assist you with all your prescription lens needs.

WHAT ARE POLARIZED LENSES?

Polarized lenses contain a special filter that blocks reflected light and reduces glare off flat surfaces, thereby helping to increase visual acuity and reduce eye fatigue. As a result, polarized lenses are extremely popular with drivers, skiers, golfers, boaters, fisherman, bikers, and joggers.

WHAT ARE GRADIENT TINTED LENSES?

Gradient tinted lenses are typically fully tinted at the top and become gradually clearer towards the bottom. Gradient tints are popular as a fashion statement and because they offer more low-light flexibility than fully tinted sun lenses. Variants include double and triple gradients.

WHAT IS ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING?

Anti-reflective coating is a special type of multi-layer coating applied to lens surfaces to help reduce glare caused by light reflecting off the backside of your lenses and directly into your eyes. This reduction in glare can help increase visual acuity and reduce eye fatigue.

WHAT IS HYDROPHOBIC COATING?

Hydrophobic coating is a treatment that helps facilitate run-off of water droplets from lens surfaces and also helps repel oil and fingerprints. Hydrophobic coating can help reduce the visual distortion that can occur around water or in the rain.

FRAME QUESTIONS

WHAT IS CELLULOSE ACETATE?

Cellulose Acetate is a non-petroleum based plastic that is made from natural cotton and wood fibers. Among the qualities that make it a truly amazing material from which to make eyewear, cellulose acetate is hypoallergenic, lightweight, strong, flexible, available in a nearly limitless array of transparent and opaque colors, and made from renewable materials.

WHAT IS TITANIUM?

Titanium is naturally occurring element that is approximately 30% stronger and 50% lighter than steel, and is highly resistant against corrosive materials, particularly salt water. Titanium is widely considered the ideal metal for creating products ranging from medical appliances to eyewear due to the fact that it’s nickel free, hypoallergenic, lightweight, strong and can be made flexible through alloying (e.g., beta titanium). Though dark silver-colored in its natural form, titanium can be plated in a wide variety of beautiful colors.
